Eyes of a Thief
Based in part on an incident that took place in Wadi al-Haramieh ("Valley of the Thieves") from which the film takes its title, the story focuses on a water engineer, Tareq, who has just been released from jail.
He sets out in search of his daughter, who is said to be in an orphanage in the town of Sebastia. As secrets are uncovered, Tareq's hidden past is revealed and light is shed on the complex nature of contemporary Palestinian society. Country: Palestine/France

biography
Writer/director Najwa Najjar received a BA in political science/economics and a Masters in film/video in the USA. Her debut feature film Pomegranates and Myrrh picked up 10 international awards, sold worldwide and was released theatrically and screened at over 80 international festivals. She founded Ustura Film with Hani E Kort in 1996. Najjar now lives in Palestine.
