No One Knows About Persian Cats

After having been released from jail, a young girl and boy roam the heart of Tehran and start an underground journey to form a new band, and find, one by one, members among hidden underground music groups. They want to leave Iran to participate in music festivals in London and Paris, but have neither money nor passport.

biography

Born in 1969 in Bané, Iranian Kurdistan. During his studies, he worked in radio before joining in Sanandaj, a group of young amateur filmmakers. He then moved to Teheran to begin studying film. Between 1995 and 1999, he directed a dozen or so short films. In 1999, he became first assistant to Abbas Kiarostami on the shooting of The Wind Will Carry Us.
